Suffer no more..... religious content

And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3

Many times people cry out "why me Lord?" or "how can there be a God who would allow so much pain and suffering in this world?". I ,myself, have asked the very same questions and times in my life. Our human thinking doesn't understand it. I have talked to my Pastor about this many times and I believe I am starting to realize why God allows us to suffer. The above scripture say suffering brings out perseverance, character and hope. When I think back to my childhood and was going through all the abuse I realize that it made me a stronger person. It shaped who I am today. Yes, it was an awful time but I persevered! It gave me character and hope! It has brought me closer to God. You see, when are suffering it can be God's way of getting our attention. He's saying "I'm here for you. Turn to me and I will help you." We cannot get through life on our own no matter how much we think we can, You're kidding yourself if you try. Also, I believe God allows good to come from the bad. So much good has come out of my bad! I've reached so many people who have been abused and I am able to share empathy and compassion because I understand,God allowed me to have the experiences in my life so I can help others! I have character that someone who was not abused doesn't have. The next time you think the Lord is giving you more than you handle stop and realize that God thinks you are extremely strong! In a way it's a compliment to you. Remember you will get through this struggle and be all the more stronger for the next one that come's your way. That's perseverance! You just keep trying and going on in life. The hope is that this life is only temporary and you will have a life someday filled with happiness and joy. Never another struggle. Thanks be to God!
