Sick of being SICK!

I often wonder if other people with DID get sick as often as I do. I am always coming down with colds, headaches, aches and pains, et cetera. I think my immune system does not respond to stress or change of events very well. I have medicals records that are more like medical tomes! Another thing I wonder is if, perhaps, being born when my Mom was 7 months pregnant and me weighing only 2 1/2 pounds has something to do with my immune system. Did it not develop properly because I was so tiny? I just remember being sick so much growing up and being hospitalized several times as a child for sicknesses. I have all these inner parts and they all seem to have different levels of health. This is why I believe my thyroid problem can not be controlled well. If I make sure I am the one out for the blood test it usually is okay but if someone else pops out during the blood test it almost always requires a medicine adjustment. I would love some feedback on this. Have any other multiples had this problem with health?

  1. I too have medical differences between parts. I have diabetes, some of my insiders do not. I have horrible vision and rely on glasses or contacts, some insiders have no vision problems. I understand your thoughts and share them

  2. Thanks for sharing. It's bad enough to have DID and then being sick all of the time is the pits! People in my life don't understand how I'm sick so much. I feel like they think I'm a hypochondriac :(

  3. Hi Sherry, thanks for sharing this. I would love to talk to you more about this. I know when my mom would go to the doctor, ailments would change from minute to minute depending on how many times her personalities would change. They could never pinpoint anything, nor could they understand how one body could produce so many different results.

  5. I don't know if any of my alters have come out during doctors appointments or during blood work tests. I don't know. Though, I can feel my thyroid acting up at times...yet, it's never shown up as abnormal on any blood tests. Or other tests. But I KNOW it acts up.

  6. Yes! I am glad to see confirmation of this. Everyone thinks we are hypochondriacs or liars because our physical symptoms change around so much, but so much goes on it is ridiculous. It was a relief to let my practitioner know that switching alters would likely affect my bodies reactions to things.
